New Hours! New Groups! More Classes!

The Leslieville Ju-Jitsu Club has expanded its training days!!

That's right, along with more days and hours we also have more ways for our community to participate in our Ju-Jitsu & grappling programs. If you don't know what Ju-Jitsu is -come on out, and we'll be happy to give you an introduction to this amazing sport.

What are the programs?

There are 3 different programs offered by Man-Alive Martial Arts at Chang’e Studio. All of the programs offer an experience with Brazilian Ju-Jitsu classes and training. The 3 programs are: Leslieville Ju-Jitsu Club, LJJC Youth Grappling Club, and Sister Samurai Women’s Grappling Club.

This style of martial art centres its focus on grappling and wrestling, and is an exciting recreational sport. Competitors begin matches standing attempting to grab and take one another to the mats, where the focus becomes to make your opponent give up by signalling with a ‘tap’. This ‘tap’ signal is patting the mats, your opponent, or yourself repeatedly until the match is stopped.

How do I join in?

For each of the programs, the first class is $20.00 trial. There is a 2 for 1 deal if you come with a friend. After the trial class, you can pay for additional drop-in classes for $20.00 each. These classes are Sundays only, unless arranged with the instructor. Drop-in and trial students can train wearing athletic clothing (shorts/T-shirt/tracks/etc) and bare feet.
